UK teams compete inside the wider European and EMEA region rather than in a separate UK league. The official circuit, regional qualifiers and community cups are spread across a few sites, so these are the places worth bookmarking. All links open in a new tab.

How the competitive path works for UK players
There is no single UK-only pro league for PUBG. British players and teams qualify through European and EMEA competitions, and the strongest teams progress to KRAFTON's international events. In practice the route looks like this:
- Ranked play. Build mechanical consistency, rotations and end-game decision making on the Europe servers.
- Scrims and custom lobbies. UK and EU community Discords run regular practice games with points tables that mirror tournament scoring.
- Community and third-party cups. Smaller online tournaments are the best way to get a team noticed and to practise under pressure.
- Open qualifiers. Regional qualifiers feed into the official circuit. Liquipedia lists them as they are announced, and pubgesports.com publishes the rules.
- International events. Top European teams represent the region at global events run by KRAFTON.
Getting your setup tournament-ready
Most of the edge at amateur and semi-pro level comes from consistency: a stable, high frame rate, clean audio and settings you never have to think about mid-match. These two guides cover the technical side.
PUBG settings for max FPS and visibility
A full table of graphics options with recommended values, why each one matters for spotting enemies, and Windows-level checks that remove stutter. Useful if you are on a mid-range PC or chasing a high-refresh monitor.
How to hear footsteps clearly in PUBG
Frequency targets for a parametric EQ (cut sub-bass, lift 4–8 kHz), in-game volume priorities, why most players avoid virtual surround, and what to look for in a competitive headset or IEMs.
What's new in PUBG: Update 43.1 at a glance
PUBG changes every few weeks. These are the 2026 updates that matter most for competitive players, newest first, checked against the official patch notes.
| Update | Change | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| 43.1 (Sep 2026) | LMGs nerfed: aim-down-sights slowed from 0.30 to 0.37 seconds, more recoil, RPD and M249 spawn 30% less often | Assault rifles and DMRs are the safer picks again. See which guns are strongest now. |
| 43.1 (Sep 2026) | New kick action, 25% faster swimming and diving, carry some items without inventory space, parachutes open automatically at 250 m | More options in close fights and water crossings. |
| 42.3 (Aug 2026) | Crosshair editor added, plus the new RPD light machine gun | Set up a clearer aim point with our crosshair settings. |
| 42.1 (Jun 2026) | Blue Zone damage now builds the longer you stay inside it; six weapons removed from world spawns | Rotate earlier. Mosin Nagant, R45, DP-28, PP-19 Bizon, P1911 and QBU no longer spawn. |

Current map pool for UK players
UK players queue on the Europe region. Since Update 43.1, Erangel is always available in normal matches. One large map (Rondo, Taego, Miramar, Vikendi or Deston) and one small map (Karakin, Paramo or Sanhok) rotate weekly alongside it. Ranked uses four maps with an equal 25% share each: Erangel, Miramar, Taego and Rondo. Because Erangel appears in every queue, learning it well pays off more than any other map. Details are in PUBG's map service report.
Quick-start checklist for competitive PUBG
New to taking PUBG seriously? Work through these in order. Each step takes under half an hour and builds on the one before.
- Fix your frame rate. Apply the max FPS settings and confirm Windows is running your monitor at its full refresh rate.
- Set your ping up properly. Use the Europe region and a wired connection – see how to cut lag from the UK.
- Tune your audio. Use the footstep EQ guide so you can hear players on grass, wood and concrete.
- Lock in sensitivity and crosshair. Follow the sensitivity method, then leave it alone for two weeks.
- Practise recoil daily. Fifteen minutes of the recoil routine before you queue makes a visible difference within a fortnight.
- Learn utility. Carry smokes and a frag into every late game – the grenade guide explains cooking and smoke walls.

Once your settings are sorted, work on aim and game sense: find a sensitivity you can control, set up a clear crosshair, learn recoil control, check the current weapon tier list, use throwables properly and master Erangel. Creators and community
A lot of competitive knowledge in PUBG is shared by creators: VOD reviews, settings breakdowns, recoil and spray practice routines, and tournament co-streams. KRAFTON runs official creator and partner programmes for streamers and video makers who make PUBG content. Details and eligibility are published on KRAFTON's and PUBG's official sites rather than here, as they change regularly.
If you are a UK creator or tournament organiser and want a resource listed, the best route is to make sure your event is on Liquipedia. That keeps the information accurate and in one place.
